Sunday Seweress

after a totally busy week i spent all day today with four of my friends at one of jody pearl's deconstruction and re-invention classes – what fun!!! not only did i learn how to re-invent my wardrobe, i also learned a new word: 'seweress' (hope i spelled it right!)…

this morning i put 'miss daisy' and boxes full of old clothes in the car and off we went…

we met with jody at this beautiful big home. we had a sofa each to spread out our things – this is mine…

i had rather a lot (had to admit that i'm a horder)- some of it dated back to 1984 when i was a windsurfing teenager…

my first project was to turn a too small, too short t-shirt into a wearable top…

this picture was taken half way through the process. jody will probably put a picture of me wearing it on her blog.

opposite me brigita was working on a jumper constructed out of two cardigans, one had been shrunk in the washing…

the finished product was fantastic! unfortunately both pictures that i took were blurred! (again there will be more pictures on jody's blog)

next jody started me off on a wrap made from a cotton jumper…

i love how it turned out!

deconstructing and re-inventing is a very creative process and we all hope that we can manage without jody's help. jody has a real talent for finding out really quickly what people like and what will suit them. i was amazed how we all ended up with such individual things to suit our bodies and tastes. thank you jody! and thank you to dawn for offering her beautiful home, to emma for organising, and to everyone for great food and a wonderful day!!!
