i started posting instructions for little animals for the magic fairy wool class in our online classroom on monday. so far we have been making rabbits and sheep and now birds. i made this gouldian finch this morning. they are very beautiful little birds, that live in small pockets in the remote kimberley region of the far north-west of australia. sebastian still remembers with amazemant all the bird watchers we met on our last trip up to the kimberley in july 2009. they all wanted to get a glimpse of the gouldian finch, some had come from overseas! but this little bird is very elusive and most people went home dissapointed – we didn't see one either 😦
